Review of Female Bodyguards (Close) - Good action but lacking drama

Noomi Rapace is known as a "specialist" star of the thorny, fire-fighting action roles. And most recently, after Bright, Noomi continued to appear in another Netflix project of Female Bodyguard (Close). The movie Bodyguards (Close) inspired by a real character, the film revolves around the journey to protect a famous female entrepreneur Sam Carlson's officer. The film begins when female bodyguard Sam takes on a task of protecting Zoe - the young girl who has inherited a fortune after her father's death. Sam's mission is only for 24 hours but then she is invited by Zoe to stay overnight for the next day to return.

That night, Zoe's mansion was raided by a group of mercenaries to kidnap her. Zoe is protected by Sam to escape. On the run, the kidnappers both discover the facts about the kidnappers and the conspiracy behind them.

Judging from the story of the Female Bodyguard, I really don't like the style of this movie. Female Bodyguard is an action movie but the drama is not dramatic. Everything happens like a detective movie with a little action. The film does not have any really climax, to the end of the dramatic resolution with a simple action and very sketchy. The villain was also not specifically built, everything revolved around Sam and Zoe, the rest of the characters only glided over to "make it difficult" for the main character, without any really terrible plans or plots. hideous.

In addition, the film also has some rather ungainly gritty, more illogical and shrouded details. If you stay at home watching, you can try to see it until the end and still sitting in the theater really frustrated

The brightest point in the movie is the gore action and very real. Close is not an action movie with a leading role, fighting somewhere. Both Sam and Zoe are battered, unable to trust anyone, relying only on each other to escape. In addition to some action scenes, Close goes into the psychological exploitation of both Sam and Zoe. When Sam first read the profile of Zoe, she had a look of disdain and dislike for the client. But the more they interact, live and die together, both gradually understand and sympathize with the other's situation.

Close has the participation of a relatively good cast with notable names such as: Noomi Rapace, Sophie Nélisse, Eoin Macken, Indira Varma, George Georgiou, ... Only Noomi does his best. Noomi is not of the attractive type of female, on the contrary, she possesses a tough, tough face suitable for the roles that require both rolling action and complicated psychological development. Noomi as Sam is not only an officer with good fighting skills but also experienced, know how to adapt well to difficult situations.

Sophie Nélisse as Zoe exactly the type of "useless bread" in the film is only one thing is to create difficulty for the female lead. Sophie has an ordinary role and not much prominence.

Judge Female Bodyguard (Close) is a good quality action movie. The film is not bad but not enough dollars for action movie fans. Hai Phuong's movie selection will probably be more appropriate this week.
